Description from the seller

Large Realistic Sculpture of an Exotic Bird (Parrot) in Brazilian Semi-Precious Stones.

Important decorative sculpture representing an exotic bird (parrot), meticulously hand-carved in blocks of authentic minerals and natural gemstones of Brazilian origin. The bird features a body worked in green quartz (aventurine) with incised textures simulating plumage, a stylized crest, and an elongated tail in pink quartz and translucent agate, and an anatomically detailed beak in red jasper. Feet molded in textured metal.

Resting on a towering, pristine natural tip of clear quartz crystal (rock crystal) with faceted faces and preserved natural terminations. A unique piece with strong aesthetic and decorative appeal, combining the art of lapidary with mineral beauty in its raw state.

Overall good condition.

Seller's Story

Antiques are my enormous passion; all the items I have up for auction were found at antique fairs and from antique dealers mainly in the Lisbon area, but also from the rest of Portugal. Only pieces of good quality, distinctly original and obviously beautiful. Quality guarantee and very careful shipping of the pieces. ATTENTION: If you are interested in one of my pieces that has a reserve price, please note that I will absolutely not offer it for less than 80% of the reserve value of the piece. And I should also note that if that piece is not sold here on Catawiki, I will sell it at another auction house, so if you’re really interested in any of my pieces, buy it when you see it the first time. Thank you very much
