Description from the seller
Stunning Egosta 14k gold men’s watch from the 1960s.
With this beautiful wristwatch from the brand Egosta you acquire a most elegant piece of jewelry that breathes the pure aesthetics of the early sixties. This classic model combines a refined, timeless look with the lasting value of a solid 14-karat gold case. The watch is in an exceptionally beautiful condition and is ready to wear or as a centerpiece to add to a collection. The only notable defect is that the plastic 'glass' needs replacement; there is a small damage at the top-right corner as clearly shown in the photos.
The case is fully made of solid gold and is officially certified on the back with the German Reichsmark of a crown in a circle, flanked by the assay mark 14 karat 0.585. This gold hallmark is also carefully applied on the lug area. With a diameter of 33 millimeters, measured without the crown, the watch has the perfect size of a classic dress watch. Although this size was standard for men at the time, the model today also wears exceptionally well as a fashionable and elegant unisex watch.
Under the authentic domed plexiglass lies a beautiful gold-colored dial with a refined sunburst finish. The dial features clean, raised gold indices, minimalist Arabic numerals at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions, and slender gold hands. The case is complemented by a new royal blue leather strap with a stylish alligator embossing and a gold-colored buckle, creating a breathtaking and fresh contrast with the glossy gold.
Inside is a traditional mechanical movement with seventeen jewels and an Incabloc shock system. The movement is of excellent quality and functions properly; it starts running immediately after manual winding, ticks forcefully, and keeps time very accurately. The case and glass show only minimal age-appropriate wear with no deep scratches or dents. This lot offers a rare opportunity to own a gold-certified piece of horological history from the heyday of European watchmaking."
