The violin has no cracks, but only some minor age-related marks, otherwise in good condition.
This Stainer 4/4 full size violin (measuring 58cm length) is a very fine instrument from around 1900 in date.
Jacob Stainer (c.1617--1683) made violins that rivalled Stradivari as a household name and this is a well-preserved copy that has the maker’s stamp and label inside, with a a carved lion’s head scroll, a decorative ‘beaded’ border, and a maple back. The sound is robust and resonant.

Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind
