This oil-on-canvas work stands out for its refined figurative realism with a poetic and symbolic nuance, depicting the submerged face of a female figure floating in dark waters, surrounded by the soft flow of her hair and vibrant bougainvillea petals in fuchsia and crimson tones. The composition achieves an intense dramatic charge thanks to the masterful handling of light on the warm complexion and the protagonist's light eyes, which harmoniously contrast with the somber depth of the background. Through delicate brushstrokes in the facial features and fluid strokes in the reflections of the water and vegetation, the piece evokes an atmosphere of deep serenity, mystery, and melancholic beauty.
