HEUER – Vintage Mechanical Stopwatch – Cal. 7700 – 7 Jewels

A fine vintage Heuer mechanical stopwatch, Swiss made, dating approximately from the late 1960s to the 1970s, and fitted with the highly regarded Heuer Calibre 7700 manual-winding movement.
The stopwatch features the classic Heuer professional timing layout, with a large white dial, a 60-second central timing scale with fine 1/5-second graduations, and a 30-minute sub-register at 12 o'clock. The characteristic Heuer shield logo is prominently displayed on the dial, together with the Made in Switzerland signature.
The movement is fully signed HEUER, with the markings “UNADJUSTED – SEVEN 7 JEWELS – SWISS”, and carries serial number 104508. The movement is manually wound and represents the robust, purpose-built mechanical timing instruments for which Heuer became particularly well known. Similar Heuer examples are documented with the Cal. 7700, 7 jewels and a 50,7 mm case.

The stopwatch has a substantial vintage metal case measuring approximately 50.7 mm in diameter, excluding the crown and pusher, and weighs approximately 92 grams. It is fitted with the distinctive large fluted Heuer crown and traditional protective loop.

Condition & Function
The stopwatch is functional. The start, stop and reset functions operate, and the mechanical movement winds and runs.
Please note that the central seconds hand currently resets approximately one second before the 60-second/zero position rather than perfectly to zero. This is clearly visible in the photographs and should be taken into consideration by prospective bidders. The stopwatch is therefore offered in its present vintage condition and may benefit from adjustment/service if precise reset-to-zero performance is required.
The case shows visible signs of age and previous use, including scratches and wear to the case , while the dial remains particularly attractive and highly legible. The movement is clean and visually well preserved for its age.
