Splendid and extremely rare Hermès "Kelly" handbag (historically called Dispatch Bag at the time).

A true collectible piece of French high leather goods dating from 1953.

Authenticity marking (Blind Stamp): Letter I only (no circle or square), stamped on the back of the sanglon, certifying the year of manufacture 1953.

Material: Vintage Box calf, the historic and emblematic leather of Hermès. It is characterized by its natural rigidity, smooth grain, and deep shine.

Color: Vintage brown, original patinated shade, close to Havana / Chocolate hues.

Hardware: Gold-tone brass, original gold plating, typical of the 1950s, renowned for its great robustness.
Gold leaf marking: "HERMÈS PARIS" under the flap (as per the period, before the introduction of the "Made in France" mention).

Worn: Exclusively by hand.
Historically designed from the start without belt loops and without a shoulder strap.
