Verssan finds in pastel a way to own the body through games of curves, emptiness and fullness, shadows and light, by rubbing, blending and blowing the material onto the paper. The artist treats his subjects using tonal variations while playing with the color of the support in warm gray tones, revealing both softness and delicacy but also strength and virility.
