Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-born artist whose life is rooted in skilled craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and electroplating.
The turning point in his life arrives with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspended time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had kept inside for so long. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one's most authentic talent.
