A distinctive vintage Seiko 5 Automatic, reference 7S26-8760, featuring an attractive black dial with unusual gold-tone details.

The highlight of this watch is undoubtedly the set of gold sunburst disc indices at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock. Their faceted, radiating finish catches the light beautifully and gives the dial a unique character. Gold-tone hands, Seiko logo and day-date surround complement the indices and contrast nicely against the black dial.

The watch is powered by Seiko’s well-known 7S26 automatic movement. It is currently running nicely, and the day-date function works very well.

Condition
The watch is offered in honest vintage condition.
There are visible age-related marks, scratches and signs of wear on the case, crystal, dial and bracelet, as can be seen clearly in the photographs. These have deliberately not been hidden or overstated and are consistent with a vintage watch that has been worn and enjoyed.
The black dial has developed character over time, while the unusual gold sunburst indices remain particularly eye-catching.
The original Seiko bracelet is still fitted and also shows normal signs of vintage use.
Mechanically, the watch runs nicely and the day-date mechanism operates very well. No recent service history is claimed and accuracy has not been professionally measured.
