Handmade stained glass panel with enamel and glass, made in Italy by Vetreria Artistica J. Marcon, dating to circa 1970–1980, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Splendid and majestic panel in stained glass, entirely handmade, depicting the heraldic coat of arms of the ancient noble family "De Gara" (noble origins historically rooted in northern Italy).
The work was created by the renowned Artistic Glassworks J. Marcon, historic hallmark of excellence in Italian glass craftsmanship, as evidenced by the original factory mark with tree logo imprinted in the lower corner.
The heraldic composition, rich in charm and magnificent color rendering, features all the traditional elements of blazonry:
• Crest: Knight's helmet in brunet metal topped with sumptuous Baroque plumage in shades of ruby red and midnight blue.
• Shield: Horizontally divided, shows in the upper part an outspread eagle (symbol of power and nobility), a central beige band with geometric figures, and a rampant lion in the lower section.
• Scroll: Placed at the base with the inscription in Gothic characters "DE GARA".
The panel is structured on a thick cathedral-style backing glass with an irregular texture, which enhances the play of light, and is equipped with original metal chains for wall hanging or window mounting. A piece of very high decorative impact, ideal for interiors of stately, rustic, or heraldry collections.
