Description from the seller
Countertop corkscrew “Stella” in cast iron and wood – Italy, 1950s
Fascinating countertop corkscrew “Stella,” original Italian professional equipment dating presumably to the 1950s, used in cellars, wine shops and bottling businesses.
The vertical structure is made of sturdy cast iron painted in a distinctive green shade, with the word “STELLA” embossed on the central body. The long side lever in metal, finished with a turned wooden handle, operates the pressing mechanism intended to insert the cork into the bottle.
The device is mounted on a solid handmade wooden base, equipped with raised feet and a shaped support. The dark base, patinated by time and use, creates a pleasant contrast with the green iron and contributes to the authentic character of the whole.
The object preserves a suggestive antique patina, with normal signs of wear, superficial oxidation, color variations and marks consistent with its age and original professional use. These characteristics do not diminish its charm; they testify to its history and authenticity. Functionality has not been tested; it is therefore offered mainly as a historical and decorative piece.
A commanding accent piece, ideal for furnishing wine shops, cellars, restaurants, bistros, rustic kitchens or industrial-style interiors. Also interesting for collectors of antique cellar tools, enology equipment and testimonies of Italian artisanal work in the 20th century.
Adequate packaging and trackable shipping throughout Europe.
