A particularly decorative and elegant set of two matching vintage table lamps, executed in a striking combination of glazed ceramic/porcelain, gold-colored metal, and warm rust/brown velvet lampshades.
The most characteristic part of these lamps is the beautifully formed, curved ceramic base. It is finished in a dark blue-gray glaze with vertical relief lines and is interrupted by an abstract, mosaic-like decoration. In this are various colors and patterns, including deep blue, terracotta/reddish brown, soft pink, cream, and marbled black-and-white areas. The irregular facets and gold/bronze-colored dividers give each side a different appearance and make the lamps particularly decorative.
The ceramic elements rest on wide, stepped gold-colored metal feet. Above them are slender metal columns with classical detailing. The combination of glossy metal with artistic ceramic lends the lamps a luxurious look reminiscent of mid-20th-century interior design.
The set is fitted with two large cylindrical lampshades in a warm rust-brown/brownish-cognac velvety fabric. The soft texture of the shades forms a beautiful contrast with the glossy ceramic and metal. When the lamps are lit, they emit a cozy warm glow, with a pleasant light halo above and below the shades.
