AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Cult wine from Stephane Bernaudeau!!!

Domaine Stephane Bernaudeau is a wine producer based in the hamlet of Cornu, near Martigné Briand, in the Terranjou commune of the Anjou wine region, just south of Angers in the Loire Valley of western France.

The estate, established in 2000, is run by the eponymous Stéphane Bernaudeau on organic and biodynamic lines. Wines are minimal-intervention and cuvées are produced from individual blocks, or parcels, of vines. The best-known is perhaps Les Nourissons – a 0.7 hectare (1.7 acre) parcel of Chenin Blanc planted in 1910 (with a reported three percent of Verdelho of unknown origin) and previously owned by natural wine pioneer Eric Calcutt (he sold the plot to Bernaudeau in 2000).

Chenin Blanc accounts for much of the production and the larger Les Ongles site is a two-hectare (five acre) vineyard planted to the variety. Les Vrilles, however, is produced from a 0.4 hectare (one acre) plot of Cabernet Sauvignon. Bernaudeau also holds some Grolleau Noir.

Although geographically within the Anjou appellation area, Bernaudeau's wines are produced under the Vin de France title.
