Description from the seller

Pair of collectible engraved silver scent bottles from the 1930s/40s

A refined pair of collectible perfume bottles in silver, dating roughly to the 1930s–1940s, featuring an elegant floral decorative motif.

The two bottles present a distinctive shaped form, with a wavy profile and raised edges. The surfaces are finely worked with a dense geometric engraved pattern, upon which floral and vegetal decorations are hand-engraved.

The two pieces, although belonging to the same type, display different decorations: one is embellished with an elaborate central botanical motif and a monogram engraved within a cartouche, while the second features a more minimal decoration composed of floral motifs distributed over the surface.

Both retain the characteristic faceted caps in dark material, accompanied by decorative fabric tassels, one blue and one black, which pleasantly complete the ensemble.

Silver hallmarks visible in the photographs.

The workmanship, restrained proportions and the richness of the engravings make this pair an interesting example of early 20th-century toilet accessories, particularly suitable for a collection of silverware, perfume bottles, and objets de vertu.

Period: circa 1930–1940
Origin: Italy
Measurements:
- perfume bottle with blue tassel: 5 x 5 x 0.5 cm. Weight: 19.2 g
- perfume bottle with black tassel: 5.5 x 5 x 0.5 cm. Weight: 20.9 g

Good overall condition.
