Set related to the tradition of European 20th-century Impressionist landscape painting, with influence from en plein air painting and Post-Impressionism. Loose brushwork, simplification of forms, and dominance of greens, ochres, blues and greys place both compositions within an atmospheric interpretation of the landscape, more focused on visual and luminous impression than on a meticulous description of the surroundings.
