Antique French 18‑carat yellow gold brooch weighing 8.7 g, set with 30 natural round rose-cut diamonds and surrounding diamonds, without a laboratory report and dating to circa 1900 in good used condition.
Description from the seller
An exceptional, valuable antique French brooch from the high days of Art Nouveau / Belle Époque (c. 1890–1910). This masterpiece of museum quality is meticulously crafted from solid 18-carat yellow gold and has a remarkable weight of 8.7 grams – a rare and robust piece that has withstood the test of time exceptionally well. The authenticity and prestige of the piece are guaranteed by the official French hallmark 'Tête d'aigle' (Eagle Head), sharply stamped into the solid gold mechanism. The centerpiece of the brooch is a beautiful, heavy round medallion featuring a refined classical portrait profile in the iconic style of the Limoges enamel painting school. The miniature is masterfully executed in the warm champlevé technique, with vivid, glassy and perfectly preserved layers of enamel in turquoise, royal blue, emerald green, and deep crimson, applied on a radiant, cupped gold background. This portable work of art is surrounded by a brilliant crown of high-quality antique rose-cut diamonds. The diamonds shine with clarity, color, and historic 'fire'; they are securely set in a refined, traditional open-work setting with a silver top, designed to maximize light entry and brilliance. The long, tapering solid gold pin is structurally in perfect condition and equipped with a subtly textured safety notch, so the brooch stays firmly in place on fine fabrics.
