Fine and majestic oil painting on canvas dating to the second half of the 19th century, executed in full Neo-Baroque historicist taste. The work faithfully reproduces with notable technical skill the iconography of the seventeenth-century Annunciation of Lombard origin, showing clear formal references to the styles of the famous Nuvolone workshop and Camillo Procaccini. On the left, the Archangel Gabriel makes his plastically assertive entrance, supported by thick clouds, presenting the stem of white lilies symbol of purity. On the right, the Virgin is depicted in a composed and mystical surprised attitude, interrupted in the reading of the sacred book. Painted light H 100 x L 75 cm.
