Illuminated Qajar Persian Marriage Contract, a single 6-page Farsi manuscript from 1903 in a plain leather binding, with elegant calligraphy, colourful ornamentation and official seals, described as very good.

AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

An exceptionally decorative Persian marriage contract from the Qajar period, dated 1321 AH (1903–1904 CE). The manuscript is housed in a plain leather binding and features elegant calligraphy, richly ornamented pages with colourful floral motifs and gold-toned details, and several official seals.

The carefully arranged panels and elaborate decoration make this a remarkable example of a Persian legal document from the early 20th century. It has strong appeal for collectors of Qajar manuscripts, Persian art and historical documents.

The manuscript shows age-related toning and signs of handling. Please refer to the photographs for a detailed impression of its condition.
