Description from the seller
Title: Light in the Garden
ㅤ
School: European Impressionist School (1920)
ㅤ
Style: Impressionism
ㅤ
Technique: Oil on canvas
ㅤ
Condition: Generally good state of conservation, with slight signs of aging and use in keeping with its era.
ㅤ
Circle and artistic influence:
The work is anchored within the European Impressionist tradition of the early 20th century, with a clear focus on the effects of natural light, vegetation, and the atmospheric capture of the surroundings. Its execution recalls post-impressionist and luminous landscape painters active during the first decades of the century, especially for the use of loose brushstrokes, small touches of color, and a light palette intended to reproduce the luminosity of the garden. Rural architecture and the spontaneous treatment of vegetation also recall plein air painting developed in France, Spain, and Italy.
ㅤ
The composition represents a rural building surrounded by an exuberant garden. The façade, in warm and luminous tones, is partially covered by abundant vegetation and white and yellow flowers, while a slender vertical tree balances the composition on the right side. On the roof stands a small cross and a chimney from which a light column of smoke rises, a detail that adds a sense of life and depth to the scene.
ㅤ
The blue and clear sky enhances the contrast with the greens of the garden and the ochre tones of the architecture. The brushwork is agile and fragmented, especially visible in the flowers and foliage, where small impastos and chromatic touches create luminous vibration. The scene conveys a tranquil, warm, and Mediterranean atmosphere, characteristic of landscape painting in the early decades of the 20th century.
ㅤ
The work is presented with an ornate frame of notable decorative presence, finished in an aged golden tone. It features vegetal reliefs and stylized shapes repeated along the entire molding, with dark contrasts in the recessed areas that enhance its volume and historicist character. The frame complements the painting’s warm color palette especially well.
ㅤ
Observations:
The artwork may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.
ㅤ
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by an extra charge for reasons such as being outside a continental territory, exceeding dimensions, or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover this surcharge under any circumstances.
ㅤ
The courier that must cross the Swiss border can be delayed much longer than normal, so, if possible, to speed up processing, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so the customer can unlock it and thus reach its destination. Experience has taught us that this is the most effective solution for both parties.
ㅤ
Due to the high volume of shipments, the order may be delayed more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions about your order, please contact us via internal messaging.
