Jean Cocteau (1889-1963).
Jean Cocteau, born in Maisons-Laffitte in 1889 and died in 1963, was a French artist of many talents: poet, novelist, playwright, draftsman and filmmaker.
In the 1930s, he notably participated in the creation of jewelry for the great fashion designers Elsa Schiaparelli and Coco Chanel. His graphic universe, recognizable above all, is notably marked by the themes of the fish, the face and the eye.
This brooch, particularly original and uncommon, is a beautiful collectible sought after by enthusiasts of Jean Cocteau and artist jewelry.
A vintage piece with a surreal and clearly asserted artistic character.
