MARCO GERVASIO

Marco, a native Roman, as a child on his grandmother's farm befriended a duck, to whom he vainly tries to make wear Donald Duck's hat in order to draw her. Once grown, he earns a degree in Economics and Commerce, convinced he can better draw Scrooge McDuck’s dollars, and becomes a firefighter, to be able to save Malachia, Donald Duck's cat, who ends up stuck in a tree.

To pursue his dream of drawing for Topolino, he attends the Scuola Romana dei Fumetti (where he now teaches), where he learns all the secrets of the trade, and then presents some panels to Master Giovan Battista Carpi, who, in order to free himself from his harassment, welcomes him among the students of the Disney Academy. The following year he draws his first story “Donald Duck and the Desperate Situations - In the Ball,” with Donald Duck and Gladstone in a hot air balloon, despite his vertigo, followed by many more, set on Earth.

In 2012 he creates the texts and drawings for the internationally successful series “The Astonishing Adventures of Fantomius, Gentleman Thief,” still running, which establishes him as a complete author. In the 24th Romics edition (2018) he is awarded the prestigious Romics Gold.

Since 2019 he has been writing the stories of Paperinik, the diabolical avenger, and in 2020 he creates the new series “Paperbridge,” a duck teen drama starring a young Fantomius.

After many ducks, in 2021 he returns to Topolino, with his new science fiction series “The Crew of the Black Sun” and in 2023 stages the theatrical comedy “Paperugantino.”

He still has a lot to write and draw.
