Spanisches Ständchen, an original 1930–1940 oil painting on canvas by Carl Spitzweg (after), depicting a nocturnal street scene in a Romantic/Biedermeier style, of German origin and sold with a frame, measuring 41 x 35.5 cm.

Oil on canvas depicting a romantic night street scene, after the famous composition by the German Romantic artist Carl Spitzweg (1808-1885) entitled 'Spanisches Ständchen' (Spanish Serenade, ca. 1855).
The work depicts a group of street musicians playing under the illuminated balcony of a lady, executed in the characteristic style of the Biedermeier period.
Provenance: Acquired from the auction house Delon-Hoebanx (Paris), Lot 19040/79.
Signature: Signed at the lower right by the copyist/follower 'J. A. BAL'.
Canvas dimensions: 30.5 x 24.5 cm.
Dimensions with frame: 41 x 35.5 cm.
Frame: Classic gilded wooden frame with black molding that perfectly showcases the nocturnal scene.
Condition: Generally good condition of the pictorial layer with light typical craquelure. The frame shows slight signs of aging. (Refer to photos).
