Description from the seller

Charming urban landscape scene, oil on panel, by Tony Solara, transforms a city avenue into a setting of great atmospheric richness, where architecture, vegetation, figures, and artificial lighting blend through a free, vibrant, and extraordinarily colorful brushwork. The perspective guides the eye from the foreground, dominated by the elegant ornamental streetlamp, toward the architectural backdrop, creating a notable sense of depth and journey.

The sky occupies a considerable part of the composition and is resolved through a succession of bluish grays, purples, greens, and luminous glazes that suggest a moment of transition between afternoon and night. Under this chromatic vault, the buildings appear partially dissolved by the atmosphere, built with smudges and overlapping strokes that allow their volumes to be recognized without resorting to overly meticulous description.

One of the great attractions of the work lies in the contrast between the cool tones of the environment and the numerous warm accents of yellow, orange, red, and gold. The shop lights, streetlamps, and the small luminous points among the figures introduce a special vibrancy and make the city seem to come alive before our eyes.

The flowering tree on the left is another fundamental element. Its masses of pink and carmine stand out intensely against the blue-green background, adding a poetic, spring-like note that softens the architecture and balances the composition.

The technique rests on a visible, impasto brushstroke, with small accumulations of material and quick strokes that build both the pavement and the façades, the trees, and the human figures. This manner of working recalls the language of certain urban Impressionist landscapes, where light and color take on more prominence than descriptive detail. The combination of blue, green, yellow, and red generates a rich and dynamic pictorial surface.

A work with a marked decorative and atmospheric character, especially interesting for those seeking a contemporary urban landscape with a strong painterly personality, chromatic richness, and spontaneous execution.
