Original acrylic painting on canvas by E. Pérez Lezcano, titled Donde descansa la música XL (No Reserve), 70×100 cm, multicolour cubist portrait, signed and in excellent condition, shipped unframed in a rigid tube with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
In Where the Music Rests, Eve Lezcano presents a female figure gathered in a green armchair, with closed eyes and a guitar resting on her body. The tilt of the head and the delicacy of the hand near the chin place the scene in a moment of introspection. The instrument remains at rest and suggests the continuation of a melody in the memory of the person who plays it.
The composition finds its axis in the dark diagonal of the neck, linking the guitar with the face and the wide hat. Around it, the curves of the armchair, the leaves, and the body of the instrument establish correspondences that give cohesion to the whole. The cubist-rooted stylization coexists with a fluid drawing, especially visible in the profile and the arms, where the economy of lines sustains the expression.
The greens articulate a continuity between figure, furniture, and vegetation. The golden yellow of the guitar concentrates the luminosity, while burgundy tones add depth to the lower area. The blues, lilacs, and whites of the background envelop the scene in a soft clarity. The cloud shapes introduce an imaginary opening that makes the boundary between the domestic interior and the landscape permeable.
The work makes rest a state of inner attention. The suspended gesture, the closed eyelids, and the proximity of the instrument allow reading the music as an experience that endures beyond its performance. In this intimate space, the figure seems to still hear what her hands have stopped playing.
