Bronze Buddha head fragment mounted on a rectangular wooden base from Thailand, dating to the Rattanakosin period (19th century), with a dark brown to black patina and traces of gilding, measuring 13.5 cm high including the base, 4.5 cm wide and 4.5 cm deep, and weighing 227 g, unsigned and in good condition with wear to the bronze and gilding and the base attached by a metal pin after the lower portion of the original statue broke away.

Thai bronze Buddha head on wooden pedestal, Rattanakosin period (19th century)
This concerns a bronze fragment (head) of a Buddha statue, mounted on a rectangular wooden pedestal, with influences from the earlier Ayutthaya style. The head features a tall, pointed ushnisha (cranial bump), modeled curls, elongated earlobes and downward-facing eyes.
Specifications:
* Height including pedestal: 13.5 cm
* Width: 4.5 cm
* Depth: 4.5 cm
* Weight: 227 grams
Features:
Finish with dark brown to black patina with remaining traces of original gilding (gilding), visible on the face and ears.
Condition: Wear to the bronze and gilding consistent with age. The head is broken at the bottom from the original sculpture and subsequently attached to the wooden base with a metal pin. No restorations detected.
