Montpellier, Imprimerie d’Auguste Ricard, 1824.
1 volume in-4 (25.5 x 21 cm), green Russian leather half-binding (period binding), spine smooth and decorated, [8]-606 pages (complete). Corners rubbed, some foxing on the lower board, restoration on the spine with 2 small leather losses, tears at the folds of the map (no loss). Generally good condition.
Original edition illustrated with a folding map of Hérault drawn by Blanc after Siebenmann.
Creuzé de Lesser held the office of prefect of Hérault from 1817 to 1830, which enabled him to collect a considerable amount of administrative, geographical and economic data on the territory.
This book constitutes a essential testimony on the Languedoc at the beginning of the 19th century.
