Description from the seller

The flag dates from an interesting period in Argentine history. Argentina was strongly influenced in the first half of the 20th century by Juan Domingo Perón and his wife Eva Perón (Evita). Eva Perón grew to become one of the best-known figures in Argentine history. As First Lady of Argentina from 1946 to 1952, she devoted herself to social welfare, women's rights, and the suffrage of Argentine women. In 1947, women's suffrage was introduced in Argentina. Her death in 1952 at the age of 33 made her a lasting historical and cultural symbol in Argentina.

This flag dates from the 1960s and thus forms an interesting tangible object from the period when the memory of the Perón era and Eva Perón was still strongly present in Argentine society.

The flag is in nice used condition, with light signs of use and aging appropriate to its age.

Dimensions: 2.4m x 1.9m
