Side table - Aluminium - Unique side table

Aluminium Side Table / Serving Table – Polished aluminium – Tripod base – Classic Regency appearance

Elegant and striking side table in polished aluminium, featuring a rectangular top in the shape of a classic serving tray. The combination of the shiny metal, the twisted baluster-like central column, and the graceful tripod base gives the table a luxurious, almost Regency-inspired look.

The generous top has an upturned edge all around and integrated oval handles on both short sides. This clearly references the traditional Butler tray / tray table, but executed as a fully metal piece of furniture. Comparable aluminium side tables with a tray-shaped top, central foot and tripod base are also offered on Catawiki as aluminium side and wine tables.

The base is particularly beautiful. The polished, twisted central column flows into three broadly splayed curved legs, giving the table a sculptural as well as classical appearance. The tripod principle has been a favorite form for occasional tables for centuries; historic Regency and Victorian pedestal tables were also often equipped with a central pillar and three legs.

Aluminium is widely used in modern side tables due to its relatively light weight, sturdiness, and attractive metallic look. Contemporary aluminium tray tables are also specifically paired with three-legged bases because of their decorative and practical character.

A versatile piece of furniture that can be used as a side table, wine table, serving table, plant stand, or decorative sidetable. With its silver-coloured surface it easily complements classical, eclectic, modernist, and hotel-chic interiors.
