Description from the seller
Balloon Dog is a unique acrylic painting on canvas from 2022 by the French artist Lacrymal (Jimmy). The work belongs to the Urban Pop series, in which the artist blends street art elements with influences from pop art.
Centered in the work is a stylized blue balloon dog, built from strongly outlined, glossy shapes. The figure is placed against a colorful background in which graphic patterns, paint drips and contrasting colors come together. The combination of the recognizable balloon figure with the bold visual language of street art and pop art gives the piece a playful and contemporary character.
Lacrymal was born in 1990 in Aubervilliers, France, and began as a self-taught artist rooted in street art. He painted walls in his hometown and combined painted figures with collages and digitally edited and printed elements. In his paintings he translates this street art practice onto canvas.
Since 2018, Jimmy has used the name Lacrymal for his paintings. The name refers to the lacrimal gland. His work has been exhibited in several European countries.
The painting is shipped rolled in a sturdy tube. The canvas is not stretched on a wooden frame. It is carefully packaged and shipped insured.
