Description from the seller
Title: Starry Night
ㅤ
School: European Fauvist School (20th century)
ㅤ
Style: Urban Fauvism with Expressionist features
ㅤ
Technique: Watercolor on paper
ㅤ
Condition: Good overall state of conservation, appropriate for its age and technique.
ㅤ
Circle and artistic influence:
The work is framed within a modern interpretation of the European urban landscape, linked to the Fauvist and Expressionist currents of the 20th century. The use of chromatic contrasts, the simplification of architectural forms, and a deliberately somber atmosphere recall the urban painting developed during the first decades of the century, in which color and environmental perception gained greater importance than strictly academic representation.
ㅤ
The composition depicts a square or urban crossroads under a grayish nocturnal atmosphere, with a delicate presence of small bright points that evoke a starry night or a light snowfall. In the foreground, a wide dark surface unfolds, visually guiding towards a group of traditional-character buildings. The central building, with a reddish façade, stands out, accompanied by a slender church tower that rises above the architectural profile.
ㅤ
The color range remains restrained, dominated by grays, blacks, ochres, and reddish tones, while the light paper highlights and certain luminous touches add depth. The watercolor technique is combined with more defined strokes intended to delineate profiles, windows, and architectural elements.
ㅤ
The work is presented with a wide ivory-toned mat and a contemporary-designed frame, consisting of a black outer moulding and a metallic silver inner profile, providing a sober and elegant contrast with the painting.
ㅤ
Notes:
The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damage to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.
ㅤ
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge for reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excess dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will never take responsibility for this surcharge.
ㅤ
The courier crossing the Swiss border can experience much longer delays than normal, so, if possible, to speed up processing we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so the client can release it and thus it can reach its destination. Experience has shown this to be the most effective solution for both parties.
ㅤ
Due to the high volume of shipments, orders may be delayed by more than three days, for which we apologize and appreciate your patience. Any questions about your order please contact us via internal messaging.
