Background information about the object:
This monumental bronze horse is a beautiful and powerful homage to traditional Chinese imperial art. The sculpture was cast in the first half of the last century to a classic Han- and Ming-model. The piece immediately stands out for its strong, proud anatomy, the characteristic pose with head held high, and the richly detailed ceremonial tack. Thanks to the thick-walled casting quality, the horse weighs almost 6 kilos, a testament to pure craftsmanship. A solid, characterful centerpiece for the connoisseur and collector of Asian art.
