Oil painting on wood panel titled Vaso di fiori by Adolfo Feragutti Visconti (1850–1924), a 19th‑century Italian artist, hand‑signed, in good condition and sold with frame; framed dimensions 37 × 45 cm.
Description from the seller
Oil painting on a wooden panel by the master Adolfo Feragutti Visconti (1850–1924), a renowned exponent of Lombard-Ticinese painting between Scapigliatura and Naturalism.
The work depicts an intense and tactile Vase of Flowers, characterized by a rich, thick, and vibrant brushwork, with a beautiful rendering of color mixed directly on the panel. The artist's signature, "A. Feragutti Visconti," is clearly visible in the lower left corner in red.
On the reverse, the original wooden panel is left visible and is set in a refined and imposing rectangular frame with fabric matting and a carved/antique wormhole-style wooden profile. On the back of the frame there is the gallery/collection label/stamp "Pierino Provera - Lugano".
Adolfo Feragutti Visconti (Pura 1850 – Milan 1924) pursued his artistic studies at the Brera Academy in Milan, becoming one of the protagonists of the painting scene at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century. Close to the Milanese Scapigliatura milieu, Feragutti Visconti distinguished himself for an expressive style founded on the value of light and the materiality of color. He participated successfully in numerous national and international exhibitions (including the Venice Biennale). His works (including portraits, genre scenes, and refined still lifes) are housed in important Italian and Swiss museums.
The condition is very good; the painting is well preserved with a beautiful tactile patina.
Dimensions with frame: width 37, height 45.
Dimensions of painting: width 16.5, height 24.
