Wooden jewellery table with marquetry and musical mechanism
Wooden table with a hinged lid decorated with marquetry in contrasting light and dark tones. The composition features a symmetrical central motif surrounded by scrolls, foliate motifs and geometric borders. The table stands on four curved legs.
The interior contains a removable tray with five compartments lined in blue fabric. Beneath the tray is a musical mechanism with a cylinder and metal comb, operated by a winding key on the underside. Its operation has not been tested.
The lid measures approximately 36 × 27.5 cm. Stamped numbers appear on the underside and legs. No identifiable maker’s mark is visible in the photographs.
It shows signs of use, scratches, wear to the finish and a small loss along one edge of the lid. Crazing is visible in the finish of the interior base, together with wear to the blue lining.
