Benotto Model 3000 (1980) – Extremely Rare Out-of-Series "Giant" Size 67
Splendid and exceptional example of Benotto Model 3000 dating from around 1980, a true "unicorn" for collectors and enthusiasts of heroic cycling. The frame is a special off-series project crafted by hand in Italy, characterized by an extraordinary giant size of 67 cm (seat tube length), originally intended for athletes or amateurs of exceptional stature (over 1.95m - 2.00m).
Identification details and historical specifications:
* Frame number: Original stamp on the bottom bracket shell in the rare handcrafted format 1-4001 (where the isolated 1 identifies the special/custom batch and 4001 the serial order).
* Cable routing: Internal cable routing (under the bottom bracket), introduced by Benotto starting from the late 1979.
* Fork: Original high-end fork crown with unmistakable pantograph: central letter "B" and the characteristic three round lobes ("apples") of Benotto.
* Tubing: Originally built with reinforced Columbus SP tubes (seat post diameter measured at 27.0 mm), an indispensable technical choice of the era to guarantee maximum rigidity and structural stability for a frame of these dimensions.
