Description from the seller

Nor an outstretched empty hand
Acrylic on canvas 70x50

VITTORIO AMADIO
born in 1934 in Castel di Lama, province of Ascoli Piceno. Sculptor, painter, engraver and ceramist.
Very young he emigrates to Venezuela where he finds work in the oil industry. His first creative experiences date to that time (1953).
A restless spirit, attracted by the physical knowledge of the world, he delves into phenomena of parapsychology related to an aspect of his personality. He visits the USA, Canada, Africa, the East, etc.
He returns to Italy in the mid-1960s and dedicates himself to sculpture (stone and wood) and painting.
During this period he held rare exhibitions in the countries he visited, in addition to Germany, Belgium and France.
He definitively returns to Italy at the end of the 1960s. In ’75 he opens the atelier in Palazzo Malaspina where he founds the Association “La Sfinge Malaspina” to promote cultural activities, still active to this day.
For several years he stays away from the exhibition scene, preferring to deepen his knowledge of engraving techniques and printmaking and, with repeated incursions into the field of medallic art, intensifies painting and sculpture experimentation, producing a vast quantity of works.
In ’94 he begins ceramics; the same year he teaches a course in calcography engraving and serigraphy at the Villaggio del Fanciullo in Ascoli Piceno, aimed at disabled people.
In 1999, in the art studio in the USA, with some friends, he starts the Cultural Association “Creative Italian Art.”
In 2001, in Castel di Lama and in the former tobacco factory, after careful restoration, he founded and coordinates “Arte on”, a Contemporary Art Museum and art workshop, promoting cultural activities and the local area, nationally and internationally, together with managing professional training courses through information technology and multimedia and artistic technologies.
