Cherry wood, wall‑table dressing mirror dating from 1850–1900, made in Italy, in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains, measuring 41 cm high, 33 cm wide and 17 cm deep, with a tilting oscillating mirror mounted on side supports and a hinged tilting storage base.
Description from the seller
Vanity mirror or barber’s mirror, table mirror with a tilting mirror mounted on a support featuring a fold-down storage compartment.
The object is composed of two main parts:
The tilting (swing) mirror: It has a wooden frame shaped with soft lines, fixed to the side uprights via two metal pins with a key-operated handle that allow you to adjust its tilt.
The storage base: It presents an inclined top that opens by folding down, with a contoured front edge.
The object can be dated to the second half of the 19th century (late 1800s), with a style that echoes the sober, functional lines of the Louis-Philippe period, while maintaining an artisanal, typically Italian craftsmanship. Cherry wood or walnut.
Beautiful color and patina.
