Description from the seller
Poggio al Tesoro - Teos Petit Manseng 2018 - Toscana IGT
Teos is a dessert wine of extraordinary concentration and elegance, made from Petit Manseng grapes grown in the Bolgheri estate. The 2018 vintage benefits from a late harvest and a meticulous natural drying process on the vine, which enhances the aromatic complexity typical of this variety. It is a wine that defies time, capable of balancing a velvety sweetness with a sharp freshness, representing a unique expression of a terroir overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Blend: 100% Petit Manseng.
Sensory Profile:
The nose explodes with an incredibly rich bouquet of dried apricot, acacia honey, and candied orange peel, enriched by nuances of saffron and dates. On the palate, it is dense and enveloping, almost viscous, yet immediately balanced by a striking citrus acidity that streamlines the sip, leaving a very long and clean finish with echoes of exotic fruit in syrup.
Technical Notes:
The grapes are left to wither on the vine to promote the concentration of sugars and aromas. Fermentation takes place slowly in second- and third-passage French oak barriques, where the wine rests for approximately 12 months. This aging in small oak barrels contributes to color stability and structural complexity without overpowering the varietal profile of the fruit.
