Description from the seller
RETRATO #151
Series: The 1000 Faces
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
Year: 2026
Original and unique work
In Portrait #151 I build a face with a firm presence through geometric planes and color contrasts. The yellow background brings luminosity and highlights the deep blue silhouette of the hair and neck, which sustains the structure of the composition.
I work with a neo-cubist and hard-edge language, fragmenting the face into surfaces of green, cream, oranges, pinks, and burgundy. Each plane participates in the construction of volume: the orange nose organizes the center, while the broad pink cheek contrasts with the greens on the opposite side.
The asymmetrical gaze introduces a contained tension. The brows, eyelids, and black contours link the different color zones, while the burgundy lips concentrate attention on the lower part of the face. I combine angular forms with curves to maintain a recognizable expression within a fragmented structure.
I am seeking the character to convey serenity and character. I am interested in the identity emerging from the relationship between shapes and colors, leaving open the interpretation of their gaze.
This work is part of my series The 1000 Faces, a developing project aimed at gathering one thousand original, numbered, and irreproducible portraits. In each painting I explore a different identity through geometric fragmentation, color, and simplification of forms.
To ensure safe transport, I ship the canvas carefully protected and rolled inside a sturdy tube. The work is delivered without a frame.

ARTISTIC SERIES: THE 1000 FACES
The 1000 Faces is my developing artistic project, conceived as a collection of one thousand original portraits, numbered and completely different from each other. Through this series I investigate human identity and the many ways a face can express character, emotions, experiences, and inner states.
I build each character using a particular combination of lines, geometric shapes, and color relationships. Although I maintain a recognizable visual language throughout the collection, I develop for each face its own composition, personality, and chromatic balance. Each painting occupies a unique place within the whole.
With the fragmentation of the face I aim to show identity from different perspectives. I use color planes to explore facets that can coexist within the same person: strength and fragility, serenity and tension, reality and imagination.
My goal is for each work to function independently and, at the same time, form part of a much broader universe. When I complete the series, the thousand portraits will build a visual archive dedicated to the diversity, individuality, and complexity of the human being.
With Portrait #151 I continue this search through a marked fragmentation and the contrast between a luminous background and a contained gaze. This painting occupies a unique place in the series’ journey and I will not reproduce it as another original work from the series.
