Description from the seller

Studio Delu. (1976) – Mechanical Legends Collection – Spirou & Fantasio – « La Turbot-Rhino »

Shadow Frame 27 × 27 cm – Mixed media – Signed artwork – Double certificate of authenticity

With its Mechanical Legends collection, Studio Delu gives depth to the emblematic vehicles of the comic strip.

This creation draws inspiration from La Corne de rhinocéros, an adventure of Spirou and Fantasio drawn by André Franquin, in which the Turbotraction plays a central role.

The comic becomes the setting. The car emerges from it. The scene comes to life.

The composition combines a genuine page from the album La Corne de rhinocéros with a blue miniature of the Turbotraction, accompanied by collectible figurines. The miniature comes with its original authenticity certificate; a second certificate accompanies the Studio Delu artwork.

Each element is hand-selected and assembled in a black Shadow Frame measuring 27 × 27 cm. The depth of the frame transforms the page into a three-dimensional scene and gives the impression that the car crosses the boundary of the panel.

Each Studio Delu creation is produced individually. The choice of page, objects, and their arrangement make this composition unique.

In dialogue with comic book art, miniature automotive design, and Pop Art, this work speaks to fans of Spirou and Fantasio, of Franquin, and of the imaginary vehicles of Franco-Belgian comics.
