Description from the seller
Set of 2 Old antique Jambati singing bowls
Origin Tibet/Nepa
Age about early 1950s, possibly older.
The sound is phenomenal, clear with deep tones as a Jambati bowl should have. It has a beautiful patina that suits the age and condition. Well-used bowls that are in top condition.
Diameter is about
1) 13 cm and height 6.5 cm
2) 11.6 cm and height 6.3 cm
Total weight about 850 g.
Jambati
The thick wall is slightly curved and tall, the base is small and flat. The sound is impressive and lasts long!
The old Jambati bowls are often recognizable by many fine hammer marks, which natural wear may of course fade. The antique bowls are often hundreds of years old. Very occasionally I find one with an inscription. The antique bowls come in several variants in shape, colour and hammering. It seems as if these bowls have gained an extra tonal dimension through use and time, just like good wine that matures in the right barrel with the passing of time.
These bowls are pure, original and authentic material. With very beautiful patina! Depending on the metals used!
Complete with a matching professional striker.
