Winters dorpsgezicht met kerk, 1910–1920, oil painting on panel, Netherlands, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Winter village scene with a brick church, snow-covered roofs and villagers on a snowy square. In the foreground a man is chopping wood, others are talking or walking around. Seabirds are flying in the sky. Oil on panel, in the tradition of 19th-century Dutch winter cityscape paintings. Probably first half of the 20th century.
The composition is based on a winter cityscape by Adrianus Eversen (Amsterdam 1818 - Delft 1897), a signed panel of 19.2 x 15 cm that is included in Overduin 2010, cat. no. 19-8. This panel is larger (30 x 23 cm), unsigned and not attributed to the artist. It is offered as a copy or free variant after Eversen.
Dimensions: panel 30 x 23 cm (h x w), with frame [50] x [44] cm.
Condition: fine craquelure across the entire surface, appropriate to age. No visible cracks or paint loss in the photos. The frame is marbled with gilded corners and a gold passe-partout, with light signs of wear. On the back there are two wooden boards with a seam visible. Not signed, no label or maker's mark visible. See all photos, they are part of the description.
