"Les Quatre Saisons" begins in the hour before the light arrives. A forest in northern Portugal lies wrapped in mist, the air cold and still, the trees fading into pale grey behind a fallen chestnut trunk covered in lichen and moss.

Four women sit side by side along the trunk, their backs turned to the viewer, shoulders bare and close together. Each carries a different season in her hair: the blue-black of deep winter, gathered in a low twisted bun; the copper curls of autumn falling loose over pale, freckled skin; the warm chestnut waves of late summer swept over one shoulder; and the ash blonde of early spring, straight and fine, with a thin braid at the side. None of them speaks. They have not come to be seen.

They have come to wait together, shoulder to shoulder, for the first light to cross the trees. The scene feels like a morning that belongs to no calendar, a shared silence between four women who seem to need nothing but each other's company and the slow arrival of the day.

The artwork explores themes such as the cycle of the seasons, companionship without words, the quiet before dawn, the human figure as part of the landscape and the beauty of shared stillness.
