It is the second English edition of Urbain Dubois's major culinary work (famous French chef, author of La Cuisine artistique and Cuisine de tous les pays). The work offers popular studies focused on cosmopolitan, international cuisine with a strong French tradition.

The copy is richly adorned with 375 wood engravings, a frontispiece engraved, as well as two hors-texte plates. It also contains the facsimile handwritten signature of Urbain Dubois on the title page to guarantee the authenticity of the copy.

Publisher's red/burgundy percaline binding decorated with gilt titles and blind tooling on the cover and spine. Some light wear at the edges, but overall it remains solid and clean.

Fresh interior, well complete with its numerous culinary engravings, service plate presentation plates, mounted pieces and period dishes.
