This oil on canvas work is an expressive portrait with cubist and Fauvist influences that portrays an elegant, seated woman in a red armchair with a cat on her lap, inspired by Pablo Picasso’s iconic female representations. The scene stands out for its language of bold black outlines and a geometric fragmentation of the face into two-tone blue and violet planes. The color palette, characterized by high saturation and contrast, juxtaposes the greens and blues of the attire with the intense reds and purples of the background and furniture. The broad, thick, gestural brushwork provides rich texture to the surface, balancing the contemplative sobriety of the human figure with the chromatic vitality of the surroundings and the still life of flowers glimpsed in the upper right corner.
Seller's Story
Our project emerges as an online art gallery dedicated to promoting and representing young Cuban and Spanish artists with a promising trajectory and a distinctive, authentic, and recognizable visual language. Our project is born with the aim of bridging emerging artistic creation and international collecting.
We curate a carefully chosen selection of works that ranges from modern and contemporary styles to reinterpretations of classical art and avant-garde propositions, always prioritizing quality, expressive power, and the artistic identity of each creator. Each represented artist develops a unique style, which gives our works character, personality, and real artistic value.
All the works we offer are original, created with traditional and mixed techniques, and selected under curatorial criteria that ensure authenticity, aesthetic coherence, and excellence in execution. Our aim is to provide collectors and art lovers with pieces with soul, capable of engaging both with contemporary spaces and with more classical collections.
Based in Spain, Kiri Art Studio operates internationally, committed to professional service, close communication, and a safe and transparent purchasing experience. We believe in art as both a cultural and emotional investment, and in guiding the buyer as a fundamental part of the artistic process.
