Description from the seller

An impressive early example of Seiko’s first-generation 5X Series Astron, introduced in 2018 as a major evolution of the brand’s GPS Solar technology.

The deep black dial, blue ceramic world-time bezel, sharply faceted hands and applied indexes give the watch a distinctive, highly architectural appearance. Its titanium construction provides substantial wrist presence while remaining remarkably comfortable.

The watch offers GPS-controlled time adjustment, dual-time, weekday and date displays, an AM/PM indicator and Seiko’s Time Transfer function. It is powered by light and designed as a highly autonomous travel watch.

Function

The watch is currently running. GPS signal reception has been successfully confirmed. The hands, calendar displays, dual-time display, AM/PM indicator, crown and pushers were checked and operated correctly at the time of listing.

Water resistance has not been tested recently and cannot be guaranteed. The previous service history is unknown, and the watch has not been opened or serviced by the seller.

Condition

This is a pre-owned watch with visible signs of regular use. Scratches and rubbing marks are present on the case, bezel surround, bracelet and clasp, as clearly shown in the close-up photographs. No obvious chips or cracks were observed on the crystal during visual inspection.

Case diameter: approximately 42.9 mm without the crown.
Maximum bracelet inner circumference: approximately 18 cm.
No additional links are included.

Accessories

Included are the original Seiko presentation box, outer box, warranty booklet and multilingual 5X53 instruction manuals. The warranty booklet is dated 9 December 2018. The original warranty period has expired.

The inner watch cushion shows age-related cracking and deterioration. The outer box has wear along its inner folds, with small areas of the underlying cardboard visible. There is also a small tear or puncture mark on one exterior side of the outer box. These points are clearly shown in the photographs.

Shipping

The watch will be securely packed and shipped from Japan by registered, insured international shipping with online tracking. The carrier may vary depending on the destination and service availability.

Import duties, taxes and applicable customs or carrier charges are the buyer’s responsibility unless collected by Catawiki at checkout.

A technically ambitious and visually distinctive Japanese travel watch, offered with a particularly complete set of original accessories.
