At low tide, the landscape transforms. The sea withdraws and reveals the intertidal zone, a vast provisional territory made of sand, water and reflections.

In this painting, I wanted above all to preserve that sense of space and silence. The broad horizontal lines of the coast contrast with a turbulent sky, pierced by light. A small human silhouette, almost lost in the immensity, provides the scale of the landscape without interrupting the contemplation.

Brittany is here felt more than described: a changing light, wetlands, a distant sea, and that particular impression of a world momentarily revealed by the retreat of the waters.
