My works fall within the realm of contemporary abstraction as a space of intimate and material exploration. Each piece is the result of a slow, physical, and accumulative process, in which gesture, matter, and time act as essential elements of construction. I do not start from a closed pre-existing image; the painting reveals itself progressively through layers, glazes, drips, and traces that remain visible as memory of the process.
The surface of the canvas functions as a living territory, built and eroded at the same time. Deep pigments, transparencies, chromatic tensions, and metallic elements are structurally integrated into the work. It seeks a dialogue between the organic and the mineral, between fragility and permanence, between light and the density of matter.
The works do not propose a literal narrative or a single reading. They open to a sensory and emotional experience, where perception varies with distance, lighting, and time of observation. Up close, the work reveals its material complexity; from afar, it presents as a silent and forceful presence. That balance between detail and the whole is an essential part of my work.
In cases where the canvas is presented without a frame,
it will be delivered fully worked without margins; you should subtract from the original measurements what is necessary for the frame as desired. The work is executed centrally with its later framing in mind.
It is shipped protected in thick cardboard, depending on availability and always with bubble wrap, certificate of authenticity, and shipping insurance.
To be able to receive photos in a place where one can imagine how it might look, mounts are used which can sometimes slightly alter the color depending on lighting.
