European School (XX) - Defiance

- Oil on canvas board. Original fabric.

- The challenge in this portrait study does not arise from violent gesticulation or warlike display, but from the impenetrable composure with which the model fijaes the gaze on the viewer. With eyes narrowed in an almost inquisitive observation and the chin subtly raised, the figure resists the traditional submission of the canvas owner to become an active judge of who contemplates him. There is in that round face, sculpted with broad, impasto strokes, a sovereign dignity that transforms the mere act of posing into a clash of wills where the vulnerability of the naked torso is nullified by a serene and proud intransigence.

- Image dimensions without frame: 30 x 40 cm / 46 x 55 cm with exclusive custom frame.

At Montbaron Gallery, we are pleased to offer our clients an exclusive selection of artworks, all unique, original and one-of-a-kind. Each piece in our gallery is the result of deep dedication, a creative vision, and masterful technique, qualities that guarantee its authenticity. The works we sell are not industrial reproductions; they are pieces created individually by renowned artists, each with its own story and essence. Originality is the foundation of our commitment to excellence and, for this reason, every painting or sculpture that is part of our collection is carefully selected to ensure its singularity. Purchasing a work from Montbaron Gallery means owning an irreplaceable piece, an investment in creativity and talent that, over time, will preserve its artistic and emotional value. We are proud to offer works that not only beautify spaces but also connect our clients with the richness of human expression through the most authentic art. Thus, we guarantee that every work leaving our gallery is a unique piece in the world, with no replicas, and a showcase of the innovation and passion of the artists we work with.

Certain lots, due to their age and value, require an export permit issued by the Ministry of Culture. Although this is a bureaucratic procedure, it is indispensable to ensure the authenticity of the work and its free international circulation.

Montbaron Gallery is committed to offering its clients original, unique and unrepeatable artworks, guaranteeing the authenticity and quality of each piece in our collection. To ensure transparency and trust in every acquisition, we offer a digital Certificate of Guarantee, signed by a certified art historian. This certificate certifies that the purchased work has been authenticated by our specialists, who verify its authorship, origin, and condition. The Certificate of Guarantee includes complete details about the piece, such as the author, creation date, technique used, and dimensions. The digital Certificate of Guarantee will be issued at the client's request, providing an official reference for the acquired piece. This document will be sent in digital format and will be signed by an art historian from our gallery, ensuring its validity and backing.

We are committed to the satisfaction and confidence of our clients, so any doubt about the authenticity or state of the work will be addressed professionally and diligently. To request your Certificate of Guarantee, please contact us through our usual channels.

Our goal is to offer the best possible service, tailoring to each client's needs and ensuring the work reaches its destination quickly and safely, with no surprises.

The frame shown in the previous images has been added to the work by a third party or by the seller, so it is not an integral part of the object. This frame is provided to you at no additional cost so that, when the work arrives at your home, it can be exhibited immediately on your wall. Consequently, no frame-related damages that do not affect the integrity of the artwork will be accepted as valid grounds for opening a claim or requesting a cancellation.
