The Wall Street Bull, a 1998 black lacquered composite resin sculpture by Arturo Di Modica (Italy), measuring 16.5 x 14 x 11 cm, signed and bearing the original copyright mark 'Arturo Di Modica 1998' on the rear leg, in good condition.
Description from the seller
There is no sculpture in the world that embodies ambition, resilience, and market victory as much as the legendary Wall Street Bull. Installed by surprise in front of the New York Stock Exchange after the '87 crash, Di Modica's colossal figure has become the indisputable idol of traders, investors, entrepreneurs, and fans of modern art.
On the back of the paw/side is stamped the original copyright mark "Arturo Di Modica 1998" with the foundry/atelier seal, testimony to the edition's legitimacy.
In financial language, the Bull Market represents explosive growth and optimism. Placed in the studio, office, or living room, this sculpture serves as a powerful visual reminder of tenacity and economic fortune.
The taut musculature, dilated nostrils, and forward-leaning posture convey ferocious dynamism, heightened by its elegant matte charcoal-black coat. Dating from 1998, it guards almost thirty years of history and celebrates one of the golden moments of modern economics.
Arturo Di Modica was an Italian sculptor who became a naturalized American (1941–2021). He conquered the global art scene in December 1989 when, at his own expense and without permits (a bold act of guerrilla art), he deposited the colossal bronze bull weighing 3.5 tons in Bowling Green, Lower Manhattan. The work instantly became the most photographed and famous public statue in New York.
Di Modica received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 1999 for his extraordinary contribution to the culture and history of the United States. His monumental works can be found in New York, Shanghai (the Bund Bull), and in leading institutional and private collections.
