Description from the seller
Panini Euro 84 – Football European Championship 1984 – complete album
Very nice and rare Panini Europe 1984 collector’s album for the 1984 UEFA European Championship in France, complete with all stickers glued in. On the last page of the cover is a small newspaper article glued in.
The official sticker album for the 1984 European Championship in France is a genuine vintage highlight for collectors and fans of the 1980s. Euro 1984 was the tournament of Michel Platini: the Frenchman scored nine goals in five games and led his team to the first European Championship title – Spain were beaten 2-0 in the final. For German fans, however, the tournament ended disappointingly: defending champions Germany were eliminated in the group stage under national coach Jupp Derwall.
- All 8 participating nations with player portraits, jersey numbers and club affiliations
- Overview of the two groups (A and B) with match schedules and a table to fill in results
- Portraits of the era’s stars: Michel Platini, Alain Giresse, Jean Tigana, Luis Fernández, Harald “Toni” Schumacher, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Søren Lerby and many more
- Introduction to the French host cities and stadiums, including Parc des Princes in Paris, Stade de Gerland in Lyon and Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne
- Information pages on referees, the tournament format and EM history
- The squad of the host nation with the legendary “carré magique” – the magical four-pass combination around Platini
The album documents the highlight of the great French national team of the 1980s and is, with the typical Panini design of the era – large team photos, colorful information pages – a sought-after collectible. In particular, the “small” EM with only eight teams makes the series manageable and especially popular with collectors.
The album is in very good condition, fully glued, with only minor signs of use. The pictures are neatly glued in – ideal for collectors who want a well-maintained complete album.
